Boys and Girls U9 Wolf Pack, (Winter Session 2026)
Player Development Program
Objectives: To develop a positive playing experience to help players and families engage with basketball.
Personal Values: Commitment, Teamwork, Empathy and Respect
Phase of Play Teaching:
Transition Offence: exploiting a fundamental numerical advantage (i.e., two v 1). Progression up the court in transition (passing ahead, getting ahead).
Offence: Penetrating the defence mainly through 1 v 1, initially getting open, and essential spacing.
Transition Defence: Protecting the basket (getting back home)
Defence: Stopping penetration (mostly one-on-one defence)
Methods: Conditioned fun games that allow children to understand space, dribble, pass, and shoot—low structure / high freedom (guided discovery). 1 v 1, 2 v one situations.
We will also support children in developing a broad range of motor skills, including agility, balance, coordination, speed, and running, jumping, catching, etc.
The program will run from Saturday, October 4, through Saturday, December 23, 2025
The session will run on the following days:
Saturdays: Beginning Saturday, January 10, 2026.
10:00 AM – 10:50 AM
Where: Canada Games Center
The session will occur on the following Saturdays:
January 10, 17, and 31,
February 7, 14 and 21
March 21 and 28
Enter via CSG’s main doors. The sessions will be in the Flexiihall
You can come dressed and ready to play to avoid using the changing rooms.
Parents are welcome to join us in court.
