11U Boys Fall Player Development Program, (2025)
Player Development Program
Objectives: To develop a positive playing experience to help players and families engage with basketball.
Personal Values: Commitment, Teamwork, Empathy and Respect
Phase of Play Teaching:
Transition Offence: exploiting an essential numerical advantage (i.e., 2 v 1). Progression up the court in transition (passing ahead, getting ahead).
Offence: Penetrating the defence mainly through 1 v 1, initially getting open, basic spacing.
Transition Defence: Protecting the basket (getting back home)
Defence: Stopping penetration (mostly 1 v 1 defence)
Methods: Conditioned fun games that allow children to understand space, dribble, pass, and shoot—low structure / high freedom (guided discovery). 1 v 1, 2 v 1 situations.
We will also be supporting children to develop a broad range of motor skills such as agility, balance, coordination, speed, and combinations of running, jumping, catching, etc.
The program will run from Saturday, October 4, through Saturday, December 13, 2025.
For: Boys ages 9 to 11 (grades 4 - 6)
Saturdays: 10:30 to Noon at the Canada Games Center
Saturdays: Beginning Saturday, October 4, 2025
Sessions will occur on the following Saturdays:
October 4, 11, and 18
November 1, 15, and 22
December 6 and 13
Where: Canada Games Center (CGC)
Enter via the main school door.
Narrow hallways have single-lane access, so please plan your transitions appropriately.
Come dressed and ready to play.
